Here at RGSGQ, our student leadership team in Primary school is made up of a Head Boy and Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Girl and several prefects, all in Year 6. We encourage the students to apply for these positions and held interviews for the Head Boy and Girl roles. Further to these roles, each class has a school council representative. Together, this group of leaders help to make decisions on how the school is run and take on projects, help to organize events and represent the school.

Student Leadership at RGSGQ Secondary School

The Secondary School offers a range of student leadership opportunities to promote responsibility, teamwork, and student voice. Each academic year, students vote for a Head Boy and Head Girl from the Year 10 cohort.

In 2025, the quality of candidates was exceptionally strong, leading to an expansion of the leadership structure to include Deputy Head Boy and Girl, Assistant Head Boy and Girl, and a new role — Advisory Head Boy and Girl — held by the outgoing Year 10 leaders who now mentor and advise the new team.

This means the school now has eight core student leaders, supported by a wider network of representatives. Each form group elects a Student Council Representative who acts as a link between students and staff, attending monthly council meetings and helping to organise school events.

Additionally, Student House Captains work alongside staff to coordinate and lead house activities, promoting participation, collaboration, and school spirit across the year groups.
