Do you offer a sibling discount?

Yes, the Royal Grammar School Guildofrd in Qatar offers a 10% sibling discount. It is offered to the second child. View fees here

What are the age requirements for the various age groups?

We follow the same model as the English education system and take account of the child’s age on 1 September to guide their academic year group. Please use the following table to determine the correct year group for your child. Click Here

Can I tour the school?

As a result of COVID-19, we are unable to carry out tours at the school premises.

Does the school offer transport to and from the School?

The Royal Grammar School Guildford Qatar offers a School Bus service. Three 30 seater buses have been purchased by the School, which transport pupils via separate routes throughout Doha.

The RGSGQ directly employs the bus drivers and each bus has a bus monitor on board who is one of our class Teaching Assistants, and therefore is well known to pupils. If you are interested in finding out more about the bus service, please contact the School Office.

How many nationalities are represented in your school?

RGS is a fully inclusive school representing children from all nationalities. At present we have students from over 50 different nationalities.

How many pupils are in a class?

We have up to 15 students per class. Teacher - Pupil Ratio 10:1

Will there be a Teacher Learning Assistant in the class?

Early Years to Year 2 will have a teacher and a teacher learning assistant in the classroom, Years 3 to 6 will have a teacher and shared teacher learning assistant.

Is Arabic taught as both a first language and second language in your school?
Yes. The school has an Arabic department that delivers specialised language teaching to students.
Is Islamic Education/Studies for the Arab Muslim students delivered in Arabic for them?



What external examinations and assessments do you offer?

RGS Qatar follows the British curriculum.

  • For secondary students, we offer IGCSE examinations.
  • All students work towards IGCSE examinations during Years 10 and 11 with all students taking the examinations in Year 11.


What music opportunities are available?

Music is central to the life of the RGS in the UK. At RGSGQ, we value the contribution that music makes to the curriculum and the enjoyment of the pupils. Our dedicated music staff help pupils gain confidence and music skills, as well as nurture a love of music

What is your absence policy?

If it is known in advance that a student will be absent it is important that the school be informed by email or telephone. In the case of illness, a medical certificate is required for an absence of more than 3 days’ duration.
