RGS provides a secure and nurturing environment where children are challenged to develop their intellectual, social, and physical abilities. We place a strong emphasis on individual growth, while encouraging every student to see themselves as a valued and contributing member of both the school and the wider community.

Pupils in Years 1–6 are taught by their class teachers for the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, and Topic. Our topic-based approach brings together subjects such as History, Geography, and Art & Design under engaging themes like The Victorians, The Human Body, or Natural Disasters. This approach allows pupils to make meaningful links between different areas of learning and deepens their understanding.

Our curriculum also includes Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE), and all lessons are underpinned by our six core values: Scholarship, Courage, Inclusivity, Integrity, Respect, and Collaboration. Pupils benefit from access to a dedicated Science laboratory, which enriches practical learning experiences and fosters curiosity.

Specialist teachers deliver Music, Physical Education (PE), and Languages in dedicated classrooms, ensuring pupils receive high-quality, focused instruction.

  • Muslim pupils have four lessons of Arabic, two lessons of Islamic Studies, and one lesson of Qatar History, all taught in Arabic each week.
  • Non-Muslim pupils receive Arabic, Spanish, and French lessons each week, giving them opportunities to develop strong language skills and cultural awareness.

We also integrate Qatar History throughout the primary curriculum, enabling pupils to develop a deeper understanding of the country they live in — its rich culture, traditions, environmental issues, and progress as a modern, multicultural society.

Classes in Year 1 and Year 2 are supported by a dedicated Teaching Assistant, while Key Stage 2 classes share Teaching Assistants to provide additional support where needed. Class sizes are capped at 24, allowing teachers to focus on the needs of each individual child.

Children genuinely enjoy coming to school. We celebrate a range of international events throughout the year — such as Book Week, International Week, and World Children’s Day — helping to ensure that learning is engaging, memorable, and fun.
