Sports Day 2020

On Thursday 6th February we held our annual Sports Day. Early Years and Key Stage 1 took to the field in the morning with Key Stage 2 and 3 following in the afternoon. It was a great day of sporting action and sportsmanship with some outstanding individual performances from pupils, parents and teachers!!

Well done to everyone for their effort and to Beckingham (Early Years), Nettles (Key Stage 1), for being crowned Sports Day Champions in their respective age group

Health Week, 2 – 5 February

This week was Health Week at the RGS as we focused on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise and a balanced diet. Throughout the week there was a whole host of fun and engaging activities for pupils across the School to take part in. Pupils in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 took part in football training with Premier League Soccer, basketball with Mr McCullagh, athletics with Miss Pearson and Dodgeball with Miss Blenham. Key Stage 3 also got involved as they had an afternoon participating in swimming, football, netball and basketball.

Back in the classroom pupils have been busy making smoothies and fruit kebabs, learning about personal hygiene and the importance of brushing their teeth, and having fitness competitions.

Spring Fair

1st of February we held our annual Spring Fair at the RGS. The event was an opportunity to bring the School and wider community together and raise money for the Parents’ Association fund which is used to host future events and further strengthen our community.

There were lots of great games to play, a wide range of shops and stalls, tasty food and some fabulous prizes to be won. The Bouncy Castles were very popular, as was Splat the Teacher!!! Well done to the School Council who ran their own stall and congratulations to our competition and raffle winners who walked away with a host of excellent prizes! Throughout the day we were treated to a number of superb performances on the stage and the Angry Birds popped over from Doha Festival City to see us!

Thank you to everyone who came along to share the day with our whole community and support the School. It was wonderful to see so many parents and pupils socialising and enjoying themselves.

To put on an event like this takes an incredible amount of hard work. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making the day such a positive experience for all who attended. A special thank you to the Parents’ Association for their exceptional, hard work which ensured the day was such a great success and to those who volunteered to support games and activities.
